Hello and welcome to my digital portfolio. My name is Stewart and I am an interactive designer, here are some of the projects I have worked on in the past year.

The Kings Arms
XHTML + CSS, Javascript + JQuery, PHP + Wordpress
This was a site built for a client as part of our assessment at Media Design School. We had to find a client, pitch our idea then design and build a content managed site for them. It had to be easy for them to manage afterwards, so they can upload their own content. It was built on the Wordpress framework, but was highly customized to suit the needs of my client.

NextiPhone Web App
Ajax + JQUERY, PHP, XHTML + CSS3
We were given two weeks to develop anything we were interested in, so I decided to build an iPhone web application using the JQtouch framework. I used the eventfinder.co.nz API to access their database which I used to generate a gig guide that could be filtered by city, date, venue and genre. Note - This is best viewed on an iPhone, iTouch. To view in a browser, please use the latest version of Safari.

NextBig Day Out
XHTML + CSS, Javascript + JQuery
This site was built for our first Summative assessment. We were assessed on our skills with semantic, valid markup and we had to include 3 types of javascript or jQuery. Our given subject was the Big Day Out, so the theme I went for was 'grungy wild west'.

PHP + Wordpress, JQuery + AJAX
A group project that had to showcase New Zealand's beauty but also be a functional tourist site. My role in this was developer, using a custom Wordpress theme that I developed the client can add items to the travel planner. The travel planner uses Ajax, PHP and session variables to store data, once the user is happy with their trip these variables are sent though form mail using a custom plug-in.

NextMuseum Kiosk
Flash, AS3 + XML
This was designed to be an educational and fun interactive kiosk aimed at kids between 6 - 12 years. My idea was to do the Kia, as they are always an attraction with children and adults alike. All the the content (jigsaw pieces, photos, video, and information text) is dynamic and can be edited via XML.

NextPac Man
Flash Animation
This is a flash animation I made when I was learning flash at Media Design School. The concept was a sonic animation, a scene from a Pac Man game animated to the time of a song. It also includes a little AS3 for the pre-loader and the start / pause functions.

NextAuckland Altered
Photoshop + Photography
This was a project we were given during the design module at MDS. We had to design an A3 poster of a well known Auckland landmark and create a composite from our own photos and images sources from the internet. The images had to be altered to create something completely different. My take on this was a Soviet run Auckland.

This is a fake online ad campaign consisting of 3 different ad unit sizes. Box Ad 250 x 250, leaderboard 728 x 90 and the skyscraper 120 x 600 px. I also designed animated gif versions of these ads which can be seen on my Big Day Out site.
